Cathy found us through one of our detailing ads on Facebook and filled out the quote quiz late on a Tuesday night at the end of June. Complete detail, a large SUV, 2021 or newer, under 50,000 miles, no pets or kids, and it lives in a garage. The SUV was a black 2023 Toyota Highlander. I called, we talked it through, and by the next evening it was on the calendar for Sunday, July 5 at 8 in the morning.
So while most of Panama City was sleeping off the Fourth of July, I was pulling a Highlander into the shop. Honestly that is one of my favorite times to work. Quiet streets, a cool garage, and a whole morning to spend on one car.
Why a Clean SUV Still Needs a Detail
On paper this was about as easy as a job gets. Low miles, garage kept, nobody spilling juice boxes in the back. But black paint tells on everything. A garage keeps the sun off, but it does not stop dust from settling, and every drive through Florida humidity and pop up afternoon rain leaves something behind.
That hood shot is from a few minutes after drop-off. Under the hex lights you can see the water spots and the light film of dust sitting on top of the paint. From ten feet away the Highlander looked fine. Up close it was ready for some attention.

The Work
This was a full detail, inside and out. Outside, the Highlander got a careful hand wash in the garage to lift that dust and those spots without dragging grit across soft black paint. Wheels and tires got cleaned, the tires dressed, and the trim and glass wiped down so nothing streaky was left behind.
Inside got the full treatment too. Vacuumed top to bottom, carpets and seats cleaned, and the dash, console, door panels and cup holders wiped down. On a newer car like this one the goal is simple: keep it feeling like the day it left the lot. If you want to see what is included in each package, our car detailing page breaks it all down.

The Result
It was done a little before noon. Under the lights the black paint was clean enough to mirror the whole ceiling, and that last photo of the front fender shows the hex shapes reflecting right off the panel with a fresh, dark tire underneath. When Cathy came to pick it up, we also talked about a ceramic coating down the road to keep that black paint looking like this for the long haul.
Now that it is October and fall is settling in over Panama City, this is a smart time to get your car cleaned up. The heat is finally backing off, beach sand is done getting tracked in for the year, and the fall love bug flight is about to hit every front bumper on the road. Even a garage kept SUV picks up more than you think. If yours is due, book a full detail in Panama City and give me a call. I will get you on the calendar.
