Sherri came to us through one of our detailing ads on Facebook and filled out the quote quiz on a Monday afternoon at the end of June. When I called, it turned out there were two vehicles in the picture, a 2024 Toyota Camry and a Toyota Tundra. We decided to start with the Camry and put it on the calendar for Sunday, July 5 at 2 in the afternoon.
That made it the second car through the shop that Sunday, right after a Highlander in the morning. Holiday weekends in Panama City are always busy for us, and I get it. Everybody wants a clean car after a few days of beach trips and cookouts.
Why a Newer Camry Still Needs a Real Detail
This Camry is only a couple of years old, and that deep blue paint looks amazing when it is clean, but dark colors show everything. Dust, pollen, water spots, swirl marks from a quick gas station wash. You see all of it the second the sun hits the panel.
The inside told the rest of the story. That photo is from right at drop-off. The black leather seats with the white stripe were in good shape, but the rubber floor mats were covered in dried sand and dirt. That is pretty much every car in this town after a summer of beach days. Sand gets in the grooves of those mats and works its way into the carpet underneath if you let it sit.
The Work
This was a full detail, inside and out. Outside, the Camry got a careful hand wash in the garage. On dark paint that matters a lot, because the wrong mitt or a dirty bucket is exactly how those fine scratches show up. Wheels and tires got cleaned, the tires got dressed, and the glass and trim were wiped down so nothing streaky was left behind.
Inside, the mats came out and got cleaned, and the carpet underneath got vacuumed so the sand was actually gone instead of just moved around. The Result
By late afternoon it was done. Under the hex lights that blue paint was clean enough to mirror the whole ceiling right off the hood, and the black wheels and dressed tires finished it off. Clean floors, clean mats, and a car that felt new again for Sherri to drive home.
