Mona found us through one of our detailing ads on Facebook and filled out the quote quiz on a Sunday afternoon at the end of June. Complete detail, a small SUV, somewhere between 50,000 and 120,000 miles, no pets or kids riding along, and kept in a garage. We got it on the calendar for a 2 PM drop-off on Tuesday, July 7.
That was a two car day in the shop. A Tacoma came in at 7 that morning, and the Rogue pulled in right after lunch to take its spot.
Garage Kept Still Gets Dirty
A garage is the best thing you can do for a car in Florida. It keeps the sun off the paint and the pollen and storm grime off the roof. But a garage only helps while the car is parked. Every mile you drive around Panama City in the summer, the front end is catching bugs, road film and sand, and every time you climb in, a little of the outside comes with you.
White paint is honest about that. It hides light swirls better than almost any color, but bug spots and road grime show up right away. You can see a few of them in the shot below, sitting on the bumper under the headlight, taken while the job was underway.
A Rogue that age is right in the sweet spot for a full detail. It is a few years and a good number of miles in, so it has seen plenty of daily driving, but it was clearly well looked after. A car like that does not need rescuing. It just needs a proper reset so it looks the way the owner remembers it.
The Work
This was a full detail, inside and out. Outside, the Rogue got a hand wash in the garage, with extra attention on the front end where the bugs were stuck on, then the wheels and tires were cleaned and the tires dressed. Inside, the whole cabin was vacuumed top to bottom and the hard surfaces were cleaned and wiped down.

The Result
By a little after 8 that evening the Rogue was done. The hood shot is my favorite one from the day. Clean white paint under the hex lights reflects every single hexagon, and you can follow the pattern right up the windshield. It looked like it had just come off the lot, and it was ready to go back home to its garage.
It is the middle of October now, and this is the time of year white cars start to suffer. The fall love bug flight is in full swing around Panama City, and those bugs are acidic, so the longer they bake on the bumper the harder they are to get off cleanly.
