Abraham first reached out to us earlier in the year about a ceramic coating for this white 2019 Ram 1500. The timing was not right for that yet, so in June he came by so we could look the truck over together, and a couple of weeks later he dropped it off on a Saturday afternoon for a full interior and exterior detail. That is a good order to do things in, by the way. A detail resets the truck, and a coating can come later once it is starting from clean.
Road Film, and Why White Trucks Show It
A white truck is honest. Dark paint hides road film for months, but on white you can see exactly where the spray off the tires lands. This Ram had a band of grey along the lower doors and rocker panels, the kind that a pressure washer at the car wash just smears around. The chrome grille and front bumper had gone dull and speckled with bugs and tar. None of that is neglect. It is a pickup that gets driven, and around Panama City that means sand, salt air and, twice a year, love bugs on every leading edge.

The Work
This one took about five and a half hours. Outside, the truck got a foam pre-wash to lift the loose grime, then a proper two bucket hand wash. The lower panels needed more than soap, so they got an iron and fallout decontamination and a clay bar to pull the baked-on film out of the paint instead of just off the top of it. The chrome grille, bumper and running boards were cleaned by hand, the wheels cleaned face and barrel, the wheel wells done, the tires dressed, and a paint sealant put down so the next few washes are easy. All of that is part of a full detail here, not an add-on.
Inside, the all-weather mats came out and got scrubbed, everything got vacuumed twice including under the seats and along the rails, the cloth seats and carpets were steam cleaned, and the console, cup holders, vents and door panels were gone over by hand. The cup holders in a work truck are always the last thing anyone cleans, so they got some extra time.
The Result
The lower doors went back to the same bright white as the rest of the truck, which is the whole point. When the bottom third of a white pickup matches the top, it looks a few years newer from across a parking lot. The grille and bumper came back to real chrome instead of grey, and inside it felt ready for the next job instead of still carrying the last one.
It is late September in Panama City now, the start of fall, and this is the time of year the lower panels take the most abuse. Love bug season is back, hurricane season is still throwing sand and debris across the roads, and a truck that has not had a real reset since spring is carrying all of it.
