Mona found us through one of our detailing ads on Facebook and filled out the quote quiz on a Saturday afternoon at the end of June. I called that same afternoon, we talked through the car, and by the end of that call we had a full detail on the books for Monday, July 6, with a 2 PM drop-off.
That Monday was the first day back after the Fourth of July weekend, which is about the perfect time to get a car cleaned in Panama City. The beach trips are done, the cookouts are over, and whatever got tracked in over the holiday is still sitting right there on the floor.
An Outback That Actually Gets Used
This Outback was only a few years old with low miles, and it lives outside. That is how most people around here park, and it means the paint takes the sun, the rain, the pollen and the bugs every single day. Green paint like this looks great clean, but a layer of road film takes all the depth out of it.
The interior is where you could really tell the car gets driven. The driver side rubber floor liner was caked in dried dirt and that chalky white residue that builds up in the grooves, and the carpet around it had its share of crumbs and dust. The steering wheel had that shiny, slick look on the grip where hands sit every day. That shine is not a good thing. It is oils and grime sitting on top of the leather.

The Work
This was a full detail, inside and out. The liners came out and got scrubbed until the pattern was black again instead of grey, and the carpet underneath got a proper vacuum so the dirt was actually gone and not just pushed into the corners. The steering wheel got cleaned until that greasy shine came off and the leather went back to a clean, natural finish. Then the seats, dash, console and door panels were all cleaned and wiped down. That light leather on the seats shows everything, so it gets extra attention.
Outside, the Outback got a full foam bath and a careful hand wash in the garage, then the wheels and tires were cleaned and the tires dressed. If you want to see what comes in each package, the car detailing page lays it all out.

The Result
It was dropped off a little after 2 and finished by about 5:30 that same afternoon. Under the hex lights, the green paint had its depth back and the hood mirrored the whole ceiling. Inside, the liners were clean, the wheel felt like a wheel again, and the cabin looked the way it did on the lot.
We are in the middle of October now, and fall in Panama City is honestly the best stretch of the year to get your car done. The heat has finally backed off, the fall love bug flight is splattering every front bumper on the road, and a lot of cars are still carrying a summer's worth of sand and dirt in the floor liners. If yours is due, book a full detail in Panama City and give me a call. I will get you on the calendar.
