Ron filled out the quote quiz from one of our detailing ads on Facebook late on a Thursday night at the end of June. The answers told me most of what I needed to know: a truck, over 120,000 miles, parked outside, and a complete detail. I called, we talked it through, and by Friday evening the Tacoma was booked for a 7 AM drop-off on Tuesday, July 7.
On that call I heard straight up that the truck was in rough shape. I appreciate that. Honest expectations up front make for a better day for everybody, and it lets me plan the time the job actually needs.
A Truck That Has Earned It
A Tacoma with that many miles is a truck that gets used, and this one looked like it. The driver side floor was caked in dried mud and dirt from the pedals all the way back to the seat rail, the kind of buildup you only get from climbing in and out day after day. The door panel was dusty, the gauge cluster had a film on it, and the center console had dirt packed into the cup holders and down along the parking brake.
Living outside in Panama City adds to all of it. Sun, summer storms, pollen and sand find their way in every time a door opens. None of that is a knock on the owner. That is just what a real truck looks like after a few years of real use.

The Work
This was a full detail, inside and out. The driver floor took the most time. All that dried mud had to be broken up and pulled out before anything else, and then the floor got scrubbed and cleaned until the grey actually looked grey again. From there, the console, cup holders, door panels, gauge cluster and dash were all cleaned and wiped down, and the cloth seats and carpet got a full vacuum.
Outside, the truck came into the garage for a hand wash, with the wheels and tires cleaned and the tires dressed. If you want to see everything that comes in each package, our car detailing page lays it all out.

The Result
The Tacoma rolled in a little after 7 that morning and was done by about 3 in the afternoon. That console shot is my favorite from the day. The cup holders went from packed with dirt to clean black plastic, and the silver trim around the shifter actually shines again. Under the hex lights the blue paint looked sharp, and the truck was ready to go back to work.
It is the middle of October now, and fall is a great time to get a truck like this cleaned up in Panama City. The heat has finally eased off, the fall love bug flight is plastering every grille on the road, and a lot of trucks are still carrying a whole summer of sand and mud on the floors. If yours is overdue, book a truck detail in Panama City and give me a call. Rough shape is fine. That is what I am here for.
